Tangy alternative to the classic Tarka Dhal.

South Indian Style Dhal

Instructions

  1. Follow the instruction on the Tarka Dhal pack.
  2. Once the lentils are cooked, add the tamarind and mix well.
  3. Fry the spices and garlic (as you would for the Tarka Dhal recipe), then add the coconut and fry for 30 seconds or until brown.
  4. Add this to the lentils and serve with rice and yoghurt.
