Natural palm sugar for use in Thai cooking and desserts.
Thai Taste was formed in 2000 by a group of individuals passionate about Thailand and Thai cuisine. Their aim is to provide authentic and healthy products containing only fresh, premium ingredients.
Palm sugar is made from palm sap. The tree is tapped to collect the sap, which is then boiled until it turns into a syrup. The sugar can then be sold as a syrup or left to crystallise and sold as a solid shape. Its rich caramel notes make it a perfect ingredient to use in sweets and desserts but it's also a key ingredient in savoury Thai dishes, as it adds a sweet edge to balance the other fundamental flavours present in traditional Thai cuisine: hot, sour, salty and bitter. We especially love it as an addition to an authentic Thai curry.
