Broccoli Upkari

Serves: 2 – 4 as a side Vegan Vegan

Upkari is a popular Konkani dish made by the people from coastal Karnataka and parts of Goa. Coconuts are abundant in this region and are a staple ingredient in many dishes.

Storage Information: Store in cool dark place. This pack has a minimum 3 months shelf life.

Try it with: Best served with a creamy dish like our Moghlai, Pasanda or Vindaloo as the mustard really cuts through these flavours.

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, add sachet 1 (cumin and mustard seeds) and fry until they crackle.
  2. Add 1 sliced clove of garlic to taste.
  3. Add 250g of broccoli along with 50ml of water and a good pinch of salt, cook for 3-4 minutes until broccoli is nearly done.
  4. Add sachet 2 (coconut) mix well and cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Season to taste.
