Black Pepper 4-inch Papadums made with care in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Our premium cook-at-home papadums are light, crunchy and delicious.
Madras Papadums (or Appalams) are a traditional South Indian cracker made from black gram flour. Spiced with Black Pepper and Asafoetida, they are the perfect accompaniment to any Indian meal, as a snack or alongside Chutneys.

Microwave: Cook individually on full power for30 - 45 seconds, turning halfway through. It is ready when bubbled up and crisp.
Grill: Toast under a grill (medium-hot) for 15 seconds
each side or until bubbled up and lightly golden.
Open Flame: Cook directly on a gas hob or open
flame. Hold with tongues and keep it moving. It will
be ready when bubbled up and lightly charred.
Fry: Heat 250ml of vegetable oil in a large pan
(to approx. 165°C). Carefully slide in a papadum
and cook for 10 seconds or until lightly golden.
