Cook Rafi’s version of this well-loved restaurant curry at home in under 30 minutes. A hit with children and adults alike, it’s definitely a crowd-pleaser.
Delicately spiced and enriched with almonds, this luxurious recipe is bound to impress.
The Pasanda is a rich curry that favours dark meats and starchy veg.
Pasanda recipes are a firm favourite in Northern India. The Pasanda is from the Mughul dynasty and was traditionally made with the finest cuts of lamb or goat. Like the Moghlai Curry Pack, the Pasanda is for those who love rich, creamy curries.
Try it with: lamb or paneer.

- Empty the pack into a pan and toast the spices on a low heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Add 300ml water, mix, cover and simmer on a low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add 1kg ingredients of your choice. Mix well, cover, and gently cook.
- Add 4 fresh chopped tomatoes and 1/2 tsp sugar.
- Season to taste. Add 50ml/4 tbsp double cream and garnish with toasted flaked almonds and coriander leaves.

We had family round on boxing day and I doubled up on this and did chicken pasanda in the slow cooker, it went down a storm along with the vegan Rogan josh.
I love Rafi's, everything is so simple and you're going to struggle to find authentic Indian flavour of this quality, and you get to decide other than the spices what goes into it (inc. sugar & salt levels)
Would recommend 👌 💯 per cent the same with every curry I've had from Rafis 👍
