Cook Rafi’s version of the Phaal which is known for being the world's hottest curry. Have Rafi’s Phaal to your preferred heat strength and cook at home in under 30 minutes for an intense, delicious meal.
Phaal is a British-Indian curry that is known for being extremely hot but Rafi’s version focuses on the spice flavourings rather than intense heat.
Rafi’s Phaal is an intensely smoky, rich, tomato-based recipe. A heady Spice Mix with green and black cardamom and warming Kashmiri chillies.
The Phaal favours slow cooking as this gives the intense, smoky flavours more time to develop and complement the chosen ingredients.
Following demand and customer requests Rafi’s created this recipe so people could try the popular restaurant recipe at home, without worrying about the fierce chilli heat.
Try it with: beef or lamb.

- Empty the contents of the pack into a pan with 300ml water, 60g coconut cream and a 400g tin of chopped tomatoes and 1tsp sugar.
- Simmer until coconut dissolves.
- Add 1kg of ingredients of your choice. Mix well, cover, and gently cook.
- Open and gently simmer for a further 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander.

- Empty the contents of the pack into a pan with 175ml water, 30g coconut cream and a 200g of chopped tomatoes (1/2 a tin) and 1/2tsp sugar.
- Simmer until coconut dissolves.
- Add 500g of ingredients of your choice. Mix well, cover, and gently cook.
- Open and gently simmer for a further 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander.
