Bhajia Pack

Serves: 4 – 6 as a starter/side dish Vegan Vegan

Spices and flour for making bhajias.

Rafi’s classic version of this popular Indian snack. This savoury blend of gram flour and spices include onion and ajwain seeds, which provide distinctive pops of flavour when eaten.

Add chopped/grated vegetables into the batter and spoon into hot oil to cook. This recipe creates light, spiced fritters, perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Storage Information: Store in cool dark place. This pack has a minimum 3 months shelf life.

Try it with: chopped onion, grated courgette/beetroot or a mix of diced vegetables.

  1. Empty pack into a large mixing bowl with one finely sliced onion (or other grated/sliced veg).
  2. Gradually add 125ml water, mixing it well until the batter is smooth and thick.
  3. Drop tablespoons of the mixture into medium-hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  4. Drain, place on kitchen paper, and serve.
