Ma's Paretal Curry Pack

Serves: 4 – 6 Vegan Vegan

This is a Spicebox exclusive, based on a recipe from Rafi’s Mother-in-law. Rafi's in-laws were originally from Kerala, India, but they emigrated to Malaysia in the 1930s. Hence the invention of this dish!

A Malay and South Indian fusion, flavoured with coconut, curry leaves and fennel. A great celebration dish, cooked for Christmas day in the Fernandez family (with 20kg of mutton!).

Storage Information: Store in cool dark place. This Curry Pack has a minimum 3 months shelf life or can be frozen for up to 6 months.

Try it with: Lamb, goat or earthy veg.

  1. Empty the contents of the pack into a pan with 300ml water and 60g coconut cream, 400g tin of chopped tomatoes and 1 tsp sugar.
  2. Add 1kg of ingredients of your choice. Mix well, cover, and gently cook.
  3. Remove the lid and simmer for the final 10 minutes of cooking.
  4. Season with salt, to taste and garnish with coriander leaves.

Contains: WHEAT Flour, MUSTARD powder.

It should be noted that this pack may contain traces of PEANUTS, NUTS, SESAME SEEDS, SOYA, CELERY, SULPHITES, MILK and other CEREALS containing GLUTEN due to possible cross-contamination.
