Peanut Chutney

Our take on chutney from the Andhra Pradesh in central India, Made with peanuts, onions, garlic and spices. It is very moreish and will go with most dishes.

Peanut Chutney


  1. Heat the 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and gently fry the onion, garlic, ginger and chillies until fragrant (2 minutes). Put in a bowl and keep aside.
  2. In a pestle and mortar or an electric blender add the peanuts and the onion mixture, the tamarind chutney and lemon juice then blend with a little water to form a smooth paste.
  3. In a pan heat the 2 tbsp of oil and fry the remaining tempering ingredients on a low heat until the lentils are a golden brown. Pour this mixture over your chutney, mix well and serve.
