South Indian Style Dhal
Tangy alternative to the classic Tarka Dhal.
- Follow the instruction on the Tarka Dhal pack.
- Meanwhile, soak the tamarind in water and strain to make 2 tbsp tamarind pulp.
- Once the lentils are cooked, add the tamarind and mix well.
- Fry the spices and garlic (as you would for the Tarka Dhal recipe), then add the coconut and fry for 30 seconds or until brown.
- Add this to the lentils and serve with rice and yoghurt.
