Yoghurt Curry

A traditional Keralan side dish.

Serves: 4-6 | Ready in: 10 Minutes | Suitable for vegetarians

Yoghurt Curry


  1. Blend the yoghurt, water, salt and ½ tsp of turmeric and keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil and fry the mustard seeds till they start to splutter.
  3. Add the shallots, green chillies, red chilli, ginger, and curry leaves and fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the cumin and remaining ¼ tsp of turmeric, then fry for 1 minute.
  5. Turn off the heat and allow the pan to cool.
  6. Add the yoghurt mixture to the pan, return to a medium heat and season.
  7. Stir vigorously - do not boil!
  8. Season and serve with rice or breads.
